Das Playpublik Festival, curated by the artists’ collective Invisible Playground, took place over several days in Berlin in summer 2012. Artists, architects and (game) designers transformed the Computerspielemuseum Berlin and the surrounding urban space into a large playground for adults. Visitors were able to question the rules of the city in digital and analogue games. The goal? To test new possibilities of public action in games. This was accompanied by talks, discussions and workshops. Exciting topics such as surveillance and privacy, criticism and protest, utopia and economy and urban hacking were addressed.
